We have completed the drilling of Spring barley,Spring Wheat and Sugar beet in the last day or so.
We have also nearly finished planting potatoes. The seedbeds for these crops were some of the worst we have seen in recent 
years.. !! The almost complete lack of frost over the winter, coupled with high rainfall resulted in very difficult conditions for creating seedbeds. Over the next month or so I will be developing new pages on this site to detail the husbandry and growing of all the crops at Westmoor. These pages will remain with the site throughout. As this diary progresses during the year it will often link back to the husbandry pages and thus make more sense of the diary. Hopefully…!!!!
Boxing..!!
Our small market town of Chatteris in the heart of Fenland is famous for the production of world class boxers. Firstly Eric Boon he won the first televised British title fight when he won the Lightweight title in 1938
Secondly Dave Boy Green he won both the British and European Light welterweight titles in 1976.
and now the extremely talented Jordan Gill. He has recently won his 10th professional fight and extends his undefeated run. In his 9th bout he won the British Masters Bronze light-welterweight belt
